Maintenance Technician Internship – Corporate

Our Maintenance Technician Internship is a unique opportunity to gain valuable industry knowledge and experience from the experts. The Maintenance Intern is responsible for being physically involved with labor and repairs as requested on work orders, caretaking, and other multifamily property maintenance tasks under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor or property manager. Work orders may be in resident apartments, elsewhere in the building itself, or on the exterior property grounds.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders at assigned Velair Property.
- Assist other Velair staff with care and services of building systems and equipment.
- Maintain property and grounds to Velair standards by performing daily cleaning, trash collection and preventative maintenance.
- Read operation and maintenance manuals (O&M) for facility equipment and be familiar with manufacturer recommendations for equipment O&M.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to know and adhere to Fair Housing Laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution with preference on a labor-related industry such as Facilities, Maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, or other.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid reasoning and analytical ability to manage and solve multiple problems simultaneously.
- Well-developed people skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as autonomously.
